This is an early ash-glazed tea bowl from ancient China known as celadon. This bowl was fired in the Jiangnan region during the Spring and Autumn Period in China, but the celadon glaze has peeled off, revealing the ash pottery. It is a beautiful ash pottery tea bowl that has been fired well. It is a dignified vessel that is considered to be the oldest cylindrical tea bowl. You will want to use it for tea or flowers.
