Known as Songkoroku or Sunkoroku, these pieces were cherished by contemporary tea masters, who appreciated them as tea utensils.

Sunkoroku ceramics predominantly feature imitations of the celadon and blue-and-white wares from the Longquan kiln of the Song and Yuan dynasties. They were primarily crafted from a semi-porcelain body, adorned with ash-glazed celadon, iron underglaze, and white slip. This particular piece is a striking figure rendered in a beautiful milky glaze. It is a remarkably rare work. Although it is an excavation find and exhibits some lines on the lower back, it retains its complete form and is highly recommended for any collection.
