Geometric planes run from the shoulder across the body, converging toward a slender, upright neck. The deep lapis glaze varies in intensity across the facets, with the ridges appearing white where the glaze has been thinned.

Joseon-period lapis glaze is scarcer in surviving examples than white porcelain or buncheong ware and is known for its distinctive, deep blue. This example is notable not only for the intensity of its lapis glaze but also for its square-bottle form. Unlike round jars or bottles, its planes and ridgelines catch the light, so its appearance shifts markedly with the angle at which it is placed.

There is glaze loss, firing accretions, and areas of exposed clay around the base. Small firing marks, glaze unevenness, and rubbing are also present on the body and rim, but these fall within the expected range for an antique ceramic. The deep blue of the lapis glaze and the white glaze accents that appear along the ridgelines are beautiful, and the piece offers a quiet presence when displayed on a shelf or in an alcove setting.
