近年、日本で評価の高まりを見せたバンチェン土器ですが、
本品は細かな線刻文が胴周りに刻まれた高台付きのバンチェン土器です。
この種の土器の年代や形式変遷については未だ不明の域を脱していませんが、このような陰刻線で文様を表した土器は、紀元前千年頃のバンチェン前期に作られたとされています。
高台と胴が修復されていますが、完器形を保っております。
