The surface is adorned with abstract floral motifs, while the sides feature carvings of figures in confrontation. Unlike pottery, stone oil lamps were remarkably durable, making them valuable items in their time.
After centuries of use, the corners have softened, revealing the tactile quality of the stone. While it can still function as an oil lamp, it also serves beautifully as a vessel for ink drops or flowers, inviting a variety of interpretations.
