This tabletop, or soban, from the Joseon Dynasty, exhibits a beautifully worn character, with rounded corners and well-aged wood that invites the ritual of tea. The presence of insect damage, wear, and slight warping adds to its authentic charm, characteristic of the Joseon period. While it serves beautifully as a tray, it can also function as a tea table or a floral display stand. If you choose to use it as a tea table, it can be placed directly on a surface or the floor. Additionally, we have included a photograph showcasing it with an ancient bamboo basket as a base, which you may find inspiring.
