大正から昭和頃の、枯木瓶座です。小さな急須や茶壺を受けるための、浅い盆状の木製座です。
薄く挽かれた円形の盤から、低い立ち上がりをめぐらせています。木地には年輪が穏やかにあらわれ、淡い木肌のなかに、時代を経た乾いた表情が見られます。
「枯木」と呼びたくなるような、潤いを抜いた明るい木味で、装飾のない簡素な作りです。華やかな台ではありませんが、朱泥や白磁問わず、器とのあいだにほどよい間が生まれ、茶まわりの景色を整えてくれる一枚です。
