This is a three-legged red pottery tripod vessel from the Majiayao Culture of Neolithic China (3300–2050 BCE). The tripod vessel, known as a "li," is characterized by its bag-shaped body and three supporting legs, and it represents one of the distinctive forms produced during this period. Originally intended as a cooking utensil for steaming grains, its uses appear to have diversified over time, resulting in a variety of forms.
