This is a white porcelain full moon jar (Dalhan Ari) made during the Joseon Dynasty. As its name suggests, it features a rounded shape reminiscent of a full moon, and is also known as a lantern jar. This jar, which strongly reflects the Confucian values of the Joseon Dynasty, is minimally decorated, highlighting the beauty of the pure white porcelain.

The soft, rounded curves give the viewer a calming impression, and while it has a solid presence, it blends naturally into the space it is in. The various white tones that permeate the entire vase have subtle nuances, such as milky white, bluish white, and sometimes grayish white, and one of its charms is the way they change little by little over time.

This item has one water-tightening repair on the inside, and there are scratches and stains on the foot, but it is in good condition for a Joseon dynasty vase. With a compact size of just 38cm in height, it is suitable for use in a tokonoma alcove at a tea ceremony, and its solid shape lends a sense of calm to the space. There is some fraying around the edge of the foot, but overall it is extremely solid and sturdy. Its pure beauty, unreliable on decoration, evokes quiet emotion.
