This is a well-preserved Otsu-e painting on a wooden board from the Edo period. The image shows an oni wearing a hakama playing a shamisen, with a large cup and a sake bottle placed at the bottom. This satire depicts men who ruin their lives by becoming addicted to music and alcohol, and conveys the atmosphere of the time.
