This is a bowl-shaped pottery from Hajiki made during the Kofun period.

The soft, rounded shape of the bowl gives a sense of the warmth of the handiwork, and the strength of the earth and fire. During the Kofun period, various ethnic groups coexisted in the Japanese archipelago, and they produced a variety of pottery, including Haji ware, Sue ware, and earthenware, at the same time. Haji ware in particular has a simple, primitive beauty, and is characterized by its primitive shape that can be felt in the palm of your hand.

This bowl-shaped earthenware piece is simple, yet has beautiful natural curves that seem to be imprinted by the maker's palm, and combines the presence of the clay itself with the strength of the fire used to fire it. It's a piece that makes you feel as if you can still feel the passion that the ancient maker put into it.

It also comes with a wooden box so you can treasure it as part of your collection.
