Buncheong ware is a product of private kilns from the early Yi Dynasty that still retains the legacy of the Goryeo Dynasty, and is attractive for its free-form shapes and patterns. The slightly reddish clay is coated with white decorative clay, engraved with lines, and then covered with a transparent glaze before being fired. This piece is a splendid Buncheong ware with a peony design, and is a work that highlights the inlay and printing techniques that were developed in the mid-15th century. It is in good condition.
