The white porcelain single-eared bowl from Xingzhou ware is one of the most beautiful pieces of white porcelain from the Tang dynasty. It is made using clay with a low iron content and is coated with a uniform white glaze to achieve a translucent finish. This single-eared bowl is also made using the same technique, and the foot is not glazed, so the texture of the clay remains intact. Its neat silhouette and gentle milky white glaze give it a tranquil beauty.

Xingzhou kilns are located near Neiqiu County, Xingzhou, Hebei Province, China, and flourished during the Tang Dynasty (7th to 9th centuries). Its white porcelain is said to have had a major influence on the development of Ding kiln white porcelain during the Song Dynasty.

This white porcelain single-eared bowl is a typical single-eared bowl with a wide rim and a stable base. It features a round handle (single ear), and is both functional and decorative.

The white porcelain of Xingzhou kiln has a warm color with a slight yellowish tint, and the texture of the glaze is smooth and elegant. The glaze of this piece is in very good condition, and when it catches the light, it reflects it softly, creating a quiet shadow effect.
