Imari Comprador blue glazed Bottle Edo/1603-1867CE

Comprador means "broker" in Portuguese. During the Edo period, merchants in Nagasaki formed an association called Konpurasha and started exporting Japanese products via the East India Company (VOC). Among them, there was a soy sauce bottle called Kompurabin or Ranbin.

This product uses Mitsumata pottery stone and has a gray color typical of Hasami ware. It has a rather unusual shape among the hanging neck and lower turn shape orchid bottles, and has a cute wreath and LC dyeing on the body. Great condition. Would you like to have a collection?
