This is an early gray glaze known as proto-celadon from ancient China. Crafted during the Spring and Warring States period in the Jiangnan region, this bowl features a surface where the celadon glaze has flaked away, revealing the exquisite gray earthenware beneath. The bowl is well-fired, showcasing the beauty of the gray pottery. Its small size fits comfortably in the palm of the hand, making it an ideal vessel for tea or floral arrangements.
