浄瓶は、清らかな水を入れるための瓶です。古い仏典である『妙法蓮華経』によると、本来は僧侶が持つべき十八種の道具の一つでしたが、後に仏前に清水を供えるための器としても使われるようになりました。また、高麗時代には日常的な貯水器としても利用されました。
胴体の前後には細い線刻で花文がバランスよく施されています。高麗青磁の浄瓶の中でも、本品は釉色が特に優れています。器形も端正で、状態も極めて良く、博物館級です。木箱が付属します。
