明治期の銅製火鉢（瓶掛）です。胴に扇面・色紙を取り合わせ、蝶・花・竹を線刻で表し、ところどころに銀・真鍮の平象嵌が施されています。使い込まれた褐色の地肌に意匠が静かに映え、明治金工らしい端正なまとまりです。
内側には使用に伴う煤と緑青が残ります。外周に点状の変色や擦れが見られますが、銅肌はよく育っています。灰を張り、鉄瓶や湯沸かしを掛
ける瓶掛としてお使いください。
お手入れは磨き込みを避け、乾拭き中心がおすすめです。
