明治期の古銅水注です。肩で段を取り、胴から細長く伸びる注ぎ口と、側面に筒形の把手を備えた構成。上部には鋲留めの蝶番蓋が付いています。地肌は長年の使用で渋い古銅色に育ち、ところどころに緑青や斑状の変色が見られます。内側には銀白色の被膜が残り、当時の錫引き処理の痕跡がうかがえます。
擦れ・小当たり・点状の変色など時代相応の使用痕はありますが、蓋の開閉も自然で、状態は良好です。もともとは、茶道具として造られたものだと思いますが、入蘆花では盆栽への水注として、長く愛用いたしました。
