本品は、クメール帝国中後期（12〜16世紀頃）にタイ東北部またはアンコール周辺で焼成された、小型の褐釉陶器です。粗い砂岩質の胎土により厚手に成形され、器面には深みのある褐釉が施されています。盃の内面は焼成時の灰や釉の流れにより微妙な揺らぎを見せ、素地に黒褐色の斑が滲んでいます。底部には焼成時のトチン（窯道具）との癒着痕が厚く残っています。
口縁はわずかに反り上がった盃形です。掌にすっぽりと収まるこの寸法は、酒器としての機能に加え、儀礼的用途や副葬品としての性格も想定されます。クメール褐釉陶の中でもこうした小型の盃は比較的数が少なく、当時の酒宴や儀礼の一端を想起させます。
