こちらは唐時代に制作された越州窯の黄釉壺です。越州窯は、浙江省慈渓市やその周辺にあった青磁窯として知られ、唐代から五代時代にかけて最盛期を迎えました。黄釉が特徴のこの壺は、越州窯の釉薬の変遷を示す一例です。越州窯の初期の作品では、黄色がかった釉薬が用いられましたが、後に緑色の釉薬に発展しましたで、ふっくらとした胴体と低い口縁を持っています。焼成の過程でできた自然な色むらや、時代をへてカセ果てた味わい深い佇まいです。この黄釉壺は、当時の日用品や儀式用の器具として広く使われていたことが考えられます。
