This is a large jar from the ancient Ko-Shigaraki tradition, dating to the Muromachi Period (1336–1573 CE). Excavated from a kiln site, it features a cracked rim and deep fissures extending from the mouth to the midsection. However, these age-related imperfections blend harmoniously with the piece, which boasts a robust construction that provides stability when lifted by the rim. A bamboo tube dropper is included. This jar beautifully showcases seasonal branches, making it a delightful addition to tea ceremonies or as an elegant element in everyday decor.
