This jar, crafted from various shards of ancient Tokoname ceramics dating from the Heian to Kamakura periods, showcases a unique assembly of forms. The mouth is derived from a kyōzuka jar, while the body incorporates elements from kyōtō vessels, resulting in a shape that is not traditionally found. Nevertheless, it embodies the robust character of medieval pottery, with a rich texture that speaks to the earth and fire, evoking a wild beauty that invites floral arrangements. It can be enjoyed as a bonsai pot or as a vase for flowers, enhancing any setting with its distinctive charm.
