A set of five round antique pewter tea saucers from the Qing dynasty.

This round tea saucer features a slightly recessed central well. Though low in profile, when a cup is set the area around the cup’s foot is naturally accommodated, and it pairs particularly well with white porcelain cups and small sencha bowls.

The lack of ornamentation emphasizes their tranquil circular form and the subtle pewter-like tone of the surface. Suitable not only as accoutrements for sencha tea utensils but also for small Chinese tea cups, these saucers are versatile. Each bears an inscription on the reverse.

The pewter surface shows age-related tarnish, scuffs, minor scratches, and discoloration. An antique pewter tea saucer with an appealing patina.
