EARTHENWARE / JAR, Earthenware, Yayoi Period(300BCE–250CE)

SOLDOUT

It is said that Yayoi pottery spread alongside the rice cultivation culture of the Yayoi people. Each piece is characterized by specific shapes and functions, with jars for storage, large vessels for boiling, and shallow bowls or dishes for serving food, all of which were used in combination by the people.

This item is a jar-shaped earthenware vessel designed for storage. It features a gentle bulge from the shoulder to the body, showcasing a rich reddish-brown hue interspersed with striking black fire markings.
This Yayoi pottery is a complete piece with only minimal repairs.

Its dimensions are well-suited for display in a tea room's tokonoma alcove.
We can provide a stand, making it an excellent choice for a flower vase.
