Renowned for their vibrant craftsmanship, particularly in textiles and embroidery, the Yao also skillfully utilize bamboo, creating a variety of tools for daily life, including furniture such as tables and stools, as well as baskets and fishing gear. This piece is a bamboo basket of a size well-suited for storing teapots and small tea bowls. The lacquer has aged beautifully over time, enhancing its character.
