A tea scoop split from bamboo is decorated with an ink-painted shunga (erotic art).

The bamboo has dried with age, and the surface shows wear and minor scratches; nevertheless, the ink-painted lines remain clearly defined.

Tea scoops featuring erotic prints are rare; this is the first I have encountered. Introducing a single playful object like this into a tea setting can subtly enrich the atmosphere.
