Old Seto ash glaze small vase, Kamakura period/1185-1333CE

This is an ancient Seto small jar from the Kamakura period. Originally, it would have had a mouth, but it was lost over time. The surface has aged gracefully, with the ash glaze partially peeled off, giving it a serene presence. The body features areas that nearly tore during firing, kiln scars, and pools of glaze, adding to its remarkable charm. It pairs beautifully with wildflowers.
Consider using it as a flower vase with a liner. This piece has also been enjoyed in tea gatherings at ROCANIIRU on many occasions.
