鉄分を多く含む素地に、刷毛や布で白土を均一に施し、へらによる掻き取りで牡丹唐草文を浮かび上がらせた古唐津の意匠です。口縁から胴部にかけて六つの耳（把手）が等間隔に配され、実用性と装飾性を兼ね備えています。緑釉は薄手ながらも素地の色味を引き立て、ところどころに見られる貫入や釉切れが長年の使用と経年変化を物語ります。当時は薬草や茶葉の保存容器として用いられ、密閉性を高めた形状が特徴です。茶葉の熟成壺としてお使いいただくと、熟成が進むにつれ表情を深め、時間の経過をじっくりとお楽しみいただける一品です。
