This is a Buddhist altar vase from the Chōsen Karatsu tradition of the Azuchi-Momoyama Period (1573–1603 CE).
The iron glaze is beautifully intermingled with a milky, opaque ash glaze, resulting in a complex and rich palette of colors.
A splendid addition to any collection.
