This exceptionally rare covered box, or tea caddy, hails from the height of Ko-Seto production during the Kamakura Period (1185–1333 CE). The piece features a small jar with a lid, adorned with an exquisite and unusual lotus motif intricately carved into the surface. The lid has been restored, and it has been utilized as a tea container. Accompanied by a wooden box, which bears a stamp.
