江戸中期の民窯において焼かれた染付花文小壺です。掌に収まる愛らしいサイズ。丸みを帯びた胴に小さく引き締まった口縁を備えています。茶席において、金平糖や豆菓子を収める「振り出し」として作られたものでしょう。
灰がかった白磁胎に濃青色の呉須の発色で素朴な花文が描かれています。こうした燻んだ青は、当時の呉須が精製度の低い天然鉱石であったことを物語っています。底部にはごく浅い環状の高台が削り出され、素地の赤味を帯びた部分が現れています。状態は良好です。
