This jar, characterized by its short rim and crafted during the late Kamakura to Muromachi periods, is a robust yet compact piece from the Ko-Echizen tradition.
It showcases a rich tapestry of ash glaze and kiln variations, making it a striking example of its kind. Its size is well-suited for display in a tea room alcove.
The jar's rustic presence reflects the aesthetic of ancient Ko-Echizen, known for its utilitarian pottery, and is enhanced by the inclusion of a bamboo tube dropper.
