明治、古竹蓮葉形菓子器です。

1本の竹から蓮葉形に彫られた、明治の菓子器です。縁はゆるやかに波打ち、内側には葉脈を思わせる筋が入り、蓮の葉を器に見立てたような姿をしています。下部には輪状の足をまわし、軽やかでありながら、しっかりとした存在感があります。

竹肌には細かな削り跡と編み目のような質感が残り、赤みを帯びた艶と、長い使用による枯れた風合いがよく出ています。縁まわりの摩耗や、肌に残る擦れも自然に馴染み、古竹らしい景色となっています。

低く構えた姿と、蓮葉形のやわらかな輪郭があり、菓子器としてはもちろん、茶席では建水として静かに据えてもよいと思います。

虫食いは見られますが、裏まで大きく抜けたものではなく、状態は良好です。使い込まれた竹肌の艶や、枯れた質感を楽しめる一品です。木箱が付属します。
