近年、日本で評価の高まりを見せたバンチェン土器ですが、本品は細かな線刻文が器の全周に細かく刻まれ、彩色があり、寸胴に口開きの類例の少ない形をしたバンチェン土器です。この種の土器の年代や形式変遷については未だ不明の域を脱していませんが、このような陰刻線で文様を表した土器は、紀元前千年頃のバンチェン前期に作られたとされています。口縁に欠け、修復されていますが、完器形を保っております。
