White Delftware from the Age of Discovery. Originally made as ointment containers, in Japan they have been highly valued since the Edo period as tea ceremony utensils, such as cups and water jars. The soft surface of the soft earthenware, like yogurt poured over it, the smooth feel, and the rich, nuanced expression that seems to cast shadows have a timeless beauty.
This is a 17th-18th century white Delftware. It has some dents, but is in good condition. The water leakage test lasted one night without any problems. However, since it is an ancient item, we cannot guarantee that it will not leak.
Due to the current situation, it is becoming very difficult to obtain Delftware. Why not add this piece to your collection?
