This white Delftware dates back to the Age of Exploration. Originally crafted as a container for ointments, it has been esteemed in Japan since the Edo period for its use as a tea bowl or mizusashi (water container) in the tea ceremony. The soft, creamy texture reminiscent of yogurt, the comfortable grip, and the nuanced play of light and shadow all contribute to its timeless beauty.

This particular piece is from the 17th to 18th century and, while it exhibits some minor imperfections, it remains in good condition. A water leakage test conducted overnight showed no issues; however, due to its age, we cannot guarantee against future leaks.

Given the current circumstances, acquiring Delftware has become increasingly challenging. Would this exquisite piece enhance your collection?
