At first glance, one might mistake this piece for a type of Suzu ware; however, it is, in fact, a characteristic Sue ware jar from the Kameyama kilns, meticulously crafted with fine stamped designs across its entire body. The surface bears traces of black, while the clay itself is a delicate pale gray. This is a rare example of a large Sue ware jar from the Kamakura Period, and it is in excellent condition, free from any repairs or restorations.
