This is an antique Boro textile bag dyed with persimmon tannin.

Boro fabric represents a tradition of repurposing available textiles, mending them repeatedly, and passing them down through generations, allowing for prolonged use over time. These fabrics create unique patterns and textures through the combination of various pieces, each embodying its own distinct character.

While sustainability is often championed today, the relentless consumption of new products continues. Boro may symbolize the beauty of the cycle of objects and stories, as well as the spirit of mending by hand. Furthermore, it is now appreciated as an art form in its own right.

Having been repaired numerous times across generations, this Boro fabric has developed a remarkable ambiance. It could serve beautifully as a daily practice bag or as a traveling tea cloth for a tea practitioner.
