This woven straw object is folded in two and bound with straw. It appears to be filled with straw inside. Please note that fine straw fragments may protrude from the weave. Originally, it is believed to have served as a container reminiscent of a kamasu from the Edo period, or perhaps as a type of mat.
It is likely that this item was used as a container similar to a kamasu from the Edo period, or as some form of mat. The texture developed over time is captivating, embodying a beauty of utility.
