This is a Miyako-style earthenware jar (17th-18th century) adorned with a wave motif on its shoulder. It is truly remarkable to think that such ceramics were crafted on the main island until the Edo period. The earthenware, meticulously shaped by the hands of local artisans using the very soil of their land, seems to embody the history and prayers intertwined with nature that we have cultivated since ancient times.
