This is a large spouted bowl from the Ko-Tokoname tradition, dating to the Muromachi Period (1336–1573 CE). The bowl features a robust and substantial form, with the rim exhibiting signs of rupture that occurred during the firing process.
Its heavy clay body, along with the kiln-altered surface and the striking presence of the breaks, evokes a sense of vitality and allure, making it a perfect vessel for displaying flowers. There is a repair on the base, but it is watertight.

For this presentation, I have paired it with an antique iron trivet, utilizing it as a hanging vase. Please enjoy the accompanying photographs.
