This large grinding bowl (suribachi) from Ko-Echizen exudes a rustic charm reminiscent of ancient Shigaraki ware, characterized by its bright earthen tones and the presence of large stones. It embodies the dignified essence of medieval kilns. A portion of the rim is chipped, adding to its wabi-sabi aesthetic that invites contemplation. This piece also serves as a striking choice for a bonsai pot or a hibachi.
