A set of five lobed, flower-shaped tea saucers in antique pewter, Qing dynasty.
A horizontally elongated, lobed, flower-shaped tea saucer with its petals widely splayed. When a teacup is placed upon it, the silver-gray tin surface spreads to either side.
The piece is solidly formed, with a slight upturn to the rim; the petal foldbacks and transitions between planes are neatly executed. The surface bears fine scuffs and a soft patina, giving it the subdued, characteristic texture of antique pewter.
A set for sencha tea service, well suited to small sencha bowls or Chinese tea cups.
