This is a bandko (stone brazier) carved from Shakudani stone during the Muromachi Period. Similar examples have been unearthed from the ruins of Koyama Castle, notably in an uncovered state. Although there are cracks and losses, this piece has been preserved with its lid intact, and each component has been meticulously restored. Upon examining the interior, one can observe the rough chisel marks, yet the overall structure, with its rounded form and square openings, evokes a sense of nostalgia and gentle elegance.
