昭和初期頃の、アイヌ刻の二マです。二マはアイヌの木器を広く指す呼称で、本品は三寸ほどの小ぶりな木皿です。角を落とした方形の盤に、内側を浅く刳り、中央には幾何文様が刻まれています。四隅にも控えめな彫りが入り、小さな器ながら、手仕事の密度が感じられます。
後年の土産品に見られる厚手で硬い作りとは異なり、こちらは薄く、軽く、木地の取り方にも自然な揺らぎがあります。使い込まれた木肌には淡い艶が育ち、裏面にはそれぞれ「アイヌ刻」と記されています。
菓子器として、小さな干菓子や木の実をのせてもよく、煎茶や茶まわりの道具としても馴染みます。五客揃。
