A painted two-handled jar of the Majiayao Culture. Despite its modest size, the swelling body, short upright neck, ring-shaped handles on either side, and narrowing base combine to form a well-proportioned whole.

Dark brown‑black painted designs encircle the body. A serrated, mountain‑shaped motif, linked‑arc patterns, and a lattice design placed above the handles combine to produce a strong rhythmic effect across the vessel’s surface. The motifs are well preserved; despite areas of abrasion and flaking, they sit harmoniously within the jar’s form.

This double-handled jar is small for its type, with a compact, well-defined form. The body’s curvature is restrained, and the profile from rim to base is pleasing. Among the Majiayao-type double-handled jars that ROCANIIRU has handled to date, it is especially graceful.

The rim shows old chips and wear. The body displays scuffing, loss of painted decoration, adhered soil, and fine scratches. The base retains deposits resembling soil or rust-like staining. Given the age of the object, please inspect the photographs to confirm its condition.

A wooden box is included.
