Yayoi Pottery, Wabi-sabi Small Jar, Yayoi Period/300BCE–250CE

Pottery from the Yayoi period was produced in standardized forms such as jars, jars, and bowls according to purpose. It continued to be produced for 1,000 years, until rice cultivation was introduced and established through paddy field cultivation.

This piece is originally a crucible-shaped earthenware vessel with a trumpet-shaped opening. Over time, it has gradually returned to the earth, causing the edges to rot and resulting in an uneven shape, exuding a wabi-sabi look. Its appearance seems to summon wild flowers. How about putting small cups inside and using it as a flower vase?
