BAMBOO-WOVEN LOW STOOL, Yao, d2, Early Modern Period（16th–19th centuries）

This low stool is crafted by the men of the mountain tribes in northern Thailand.
It was discovered during a journey to the tea forests surrounding Laos, in a small village inhabited by the Yao ethnic minority.

The stool features a frame made of rattan, with a seat upholstered in cowhide.
The cowhide still retains a significant amount of hair, which is said to wear away with use.

Its charming presence makes it suitable for use as a flower stand, or it can be incorporated into a tea setting for an added touch of elegance.
