This small jar, a fine example of Ko-Seto from the Kamakura Period (1185–1333 CE), originally featured a mouth that has since been lost over time. Its surface exhibits a serene patina, with remnants of ash glaze that have flaked away, adding to its tranquil presence. The body reveals areas that nearly ruptured during firing, along with kiln marks and accumulations of glaze, which contribute to its captivating charm. Wildflowers would beautifully complement this piece. Consider using it as a vase for seasonal blooms; it has often graced tea gatherings with arrangements of irises.
