WOODEN CHARCOAL BRAZIER, With brass handles, Edo Period(1603–1867CE)

Tax included.  |  Flat ¥1,000 shipping (Honshu only, large items excluded)

As winter deepens, one is drawn to light a fire in the brazier and leisurely enjoy tea during the long nights.

This piece boasts a striking presence, with its wood grain prominently displayed in a manner reminiscent of the "uki-zukuri" technique, while elegantly crafted brass handles adorned with floral motifs grace both sides.

The robust strength of the wood, having matured over the years, harmonizes beautifully with the delicate and floral embellishments. This brazier is versatile, suitable for a warm gathering of friends over tea or for more formal tea ceremonies, adapting seamlessly to various settings.

I, too, occasionally use it for tea gatherings.
Please refer to the accompanying photograph featuring the brazier in use.
