Antique Tokoname "Nekozuri" Jar, Muromachi Period (1336-1573CE)

This is a rare example of a cat scratch motif on a Seto seed jar from the Muromachi period. It has a charming rustic appearance that complements the wild branches well.

It was used as a flower container in a tea gathering and has a water stopper inside to prevent leakage. However, due to its age, it may seep slightly after about 24 hours of holding water.

I recommend either reapplying lacquer on the inside or using a liner before using it.
